Chevrolet Facelifts Aveo 3-Door

the big-grilled version having debuted in Frankfurt. After bringing the five-door hatchback up to date with the new nose, plus a revised interior borrowed from the sedan, Chevrolet has just put the finishing touches on the final member of the Aveo family, the three-door hatchback.

The three-door hatchback version of the Aveo has never been sold in North America. Currently, there are only two three-door hatchbacks in the subcompact class (ignoring the micro-sized smart fortwo and more expensive Mini Cooper) – the Toyota Yaris and the Hyundai Accent. Being one of the most affordable new cars to purchase today, adding yet another variant might prove to be a good thing for Chevrolet on this side of the planet.

here, but rather its powerplants are smaller and more efficient. The base engine is a 1.2-liter inline-four with 84 hp, which can be upgraded to a 101-hp 1.4-liter inline-four.

Although we might not benefit from the three-door Aveo (yet), Chevrolet of Europe certainly is. The brand posted a 32-percent spike in sales, which is good news for GM's global sales.
