Every now and then on this site you'll hear about a small-scale sports car
YES! will make its debut in North America in Chicago. Yes! (Photo: YES!)
manufacturer like Wiesmann or Noble. We'll write about how wonderful their latest sports car is, hand crafted and engineered to be the ultimate machine for the passionate enthusiast. And then, in typical fashion, we have to break the news that it won't be sold in North America. That, on first appearance, is what the YES! Roadster seems to be.

The name YES!, in this case, is an acronym for Young Engineers' Sportscar, a vehicle that was brought to market in Europe by its creators, Funke and Will AG, two passionate, automobile-loving folks that wanted to capitalize on their engineering skills. They brought it to Frankfurt in '99, and since then it's become a bit of an icon in Europe.

back when it was launched in '99, but it was upgraded to the brand's much larger and more powerful narrow-angle 3.2-liter V(R)6 from the R32, with 255 hp. Furthermore, the 3.2 can be boosted by a turbocharger to produce an extra 100 horsepower! And considering that all versions of the YES! weigh well under 2,200 pounds, the most powerful models can hit 60 in less than 3.8 seconds.

But the best part about the YES! is that unlike the Wiesmann or any other small-scale company, it's going to be available for purchase in the United States. It'll make its grand debut it Chicago next month, and dealers will be announced by late February.
