All North American eyes of the automotive world might be fixated on the New York InternationalAuto Show right now, but across the globe another exposition is taking place. The annual Seoul Auto Show in South Korea's capital city has just got underway, and that country's largest automakers are introducing new cars that show glimpses of what the future holds.
For Kia the future looks big and green, both figuratively and literally. The fluorescent three-door KND-4 was designed like most SUV concept vehicles - for active lifestyle consumers who want something that's comfy in the city and durable in the country, yet sporty all-round. Essentially, the KND-4 features the nose of the Kue concept that was shown in LA, with its slim LED headlamps that flow | | The HND-3 Veloster could be the face of the next Tiburon. (Photo: Hyundai) | into a wide grille. Its flared fenders are filled with large, 20-inch wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber. Where the Kue featured a sloping, rounded backside, the KND-4 is vertical and upright in order to maximize cargo volume. Inside, Kia's 'ute has a luxurious and futuristic cabin that features AMOLED and Blu-Ray disc infotainment systems. The KND-4 is powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel, and drives all four wheels via Kia's ActiveTorque Transfer system.

(Photo: Kia) | wraps off a concept flagship luxury sedan, the Wz. During the '90s, Ssangyong collaborated with Mercedes-Benz to develop a luxury sedan loosely based off the old S-Class; it was called the Chairman. The Wz has a futuristic design inside and out that's reminiscent of most high-end concept cars. Ssangyong hopes to put the Wz into production as the successor to the Chairman.
GM Daewoo will be displaying two brand new cars on its stands. The L4X is Daewoo's new rear-wheel drive flagship based on the Zeta architecture. It's more or less a more elegant version of the new Pontiac G8 (or, its original form, the Holden Caprice), and will feature the3.6-liter global V6 as its sole engine.
