Cammer Crate Engine Comes in Ready-to-Race Version
With Mustang orders running sixty percent higher than initially expected, Ford is riding a wave of consumer enthusiasm for the first time in a long time, for its car division at least. Why such excitement about the new car? Not only does the 2005 Mustang look completely revised on the surface, while at the same time very similar to classic 60s pony cars that so many muscle car collectors adore, but it is also completely new under the skin.

(Photo: Ford Motor Company) | involvement in motorsport, so therefore it was no surprise when Dan Davis, Director of Ford Racing Technology, announced a new performance parts and competition program for the car. At the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Davis unveiled a race specification 2005 Mustang during its press conference. (Photo: Ford Motor Company) | and black" livery, and including legendary racer Parnelli Jones number 15, pulling cues from his Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am car, it was a sight to stir old motorsport memories.
"The Mustang is synonymous with performance modifications and competitive racing," Davis said. "It has an unparalleled pedigree in many forms of racing, and the all-new 2005 Mustang makes a terrific platform to continue that history of racing competition and victories."

The benefit to those taking advantage, will be having a major automaker with motorsport in its DNA as a strategic partner, kind of like having a works backup team.
"Ford Racing Performance Parts will be the one-stop shop for performance and racing when it comes to the new Mustang," added Davis. "Were going to offer everything from a Body-in-White for the do-it-yourself builder, to performance upgrades for the shade-tree mechanic, all the way to a full ready-to-race competition car for the grassroots motorsports enthusiast."
The ready-to-race Mustang features Ford Racings 5.0-liter Cammer V8 engine, which can also be purchased in crate form, as well as many other features essential to a day at the track such as a roll cage, racing seats with racing harnesses, and more.
