announcement that the funky compact crossover-hatchback would be sold in North America and Asia, Kia has furthered things by giving the world a sneak preview with a full photo of the production-ready car.

The SOUL Concepts that were shown at Geneva have lost a bit of their glamor, but the production car, the Soul (with fewer capital letters) is still an attractive looking tall hatchback, with a well-proportioned shape, large wheels and slanted roofline.

Mr Hyoung-Keun Lee, Senior Executive VP and COO of International Business Division at Kia said; "Reaction from the media and public to the three SOUL concept cars seen at the Geneva Show in March and shown subsequently at other international events, has been overwhelmingly positive. so closely related to the new Kia Soul production car, made it a natural choice to retain this evocative name."

Peter Schreyer added; "The name SOUL accurately reflects how people will be able to 'express their spirit – their psyche' with this new product. Through a variety of options, accessories and colors, they will be able to personalize their Kia Soul and create a sense of individuality, making their new car a true reflection of their personality."
