Subaru Impreza WRX STi Drivers Had Better Watch Their Rearview Mirrors
Subarus announcement of a 300-hp WRX STi probably took Mitsubishi by surprise when introduced at the Detroit auto show last year. While a more powerful version of the rally bred economy car was expected for the North American market, the event was abuzz with the new of the Subarus stratospheric output.
Since production versions have surfaced, tests have shown the less powerful Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII, at 271-hp (280-hp in foreign markets), compares well, with reports of better overall balance allowing for similar comparative performance.
