Porsche just launched "Web Cinema" on its U.S. corporate web site, www.porscheusa.com (Web Cinema is not available on the automaker's Canadian website, www.porsche.ca) that

offers sports-car and motorsport enthusiasts the opportunity to view the brand's original insider films, many of which have never been shown to the public before. Visitors get what Porsche describes as “a 'virtual' front-row seat” to great moments in Porsche's sports car and SUV history.

The site includes “rare product development documentaries, inside-the-factory research” and it “even brings the auditory passion of Porsche to life with sounds of the famous engines from the German car maker,” says Porsche.

"We are constantly seeking ways to connect consumers to our exciting world of races, rallies and sports car driving," said David Pryor, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America. "With the new web-cinema in place, viewers can feel a part of the action anytime; and the engine sounds truly are music to the ears of a true Porsche lover."

Want
Everything from motorsport videos... (Photo: Porsche)
to see coverage of how Porsche's first SUV was developed? Tune in. Or the first Boxster, complete with a well-produced (albeit a bit campy) boxing tie-in with close up body shots (of the boxer and the Boxster) that should be popular with the ladies. There's coverage of the Cayman and 911 too, plus special footage of the new Turbo's development. The movies "True to yourself" about the Porsche Cayman S and "No" about the 911 Carrera 4/4S (simply marked Cayman S Presentation and Carrera 4 Presentation in the player) both received Golden Camera Awards in Hollywood.
