Chrysler Returns With Stunning Sebring Convertible

With sales averaging 150,000 units per year over the last five years, the midsize convertible segment is an important market in the U.S., and one thats set to grow with new entries and improved models. One of the most popular vehicles on the playing field is Chryslers Sebring Convertible, which will be returning to the market completely redesigned for 2008. Chrysler decided to take the plunge and develop a folding hardtop roof system for its convertible. The roof is a three-piece system that takes less than thirty seconds to open or close, and can be operated via

improvement on any other folding hardtop convertible on the market.

As before, the Sebring Convertible is based off of the sedan, though it has been lengthened. The wheelbase has been extended by 2.9 inches, while the overall length of the car has been expanded by 3.0 inches. The sedan has been lauded by the press for being refined and quiet with a supple and relaxing ride. To ensure that these trademarks are carried over into the new convertible, Chrysler has significantly beefed the structure up, giving it a static stiffness thats 2.5 times greater and a bending rigidity thats 1.5 times greater than the
